DELTA: DESOPADEC EMBARKS ON CUSHION MEASURES TO CONTROL FLOOD.

The management of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission DESOPADEC under the leadership of Hon. Chief John Nani Eqs as Chairman commenced drainage and water channel clearing in order to minimize the effect of the forecasted flood.

The team who visited Airport Road Warri in Uvwie Local Government Area earlier today assured Deltans of the commitment of the commission to prioritize the welfare and well-being of oil producing communities and deltans atlarge.

 

Speaking, the Executive Director of Projects DESOPADEC, Hon Taleb Tebite emphasized that as part of modalities to cushion the effect of the now almost annual flooding affecting the people, the commission will open all water channels to ease free flow of water.

 

“Today, we are here in Warri and it environs, we will reach out to Sapele, Ughelli, Ndokwa and other places in the state that is be affected”, he opined. He urged Deltans to cooperate with officers at work.

 

The exercise was monitor by management team of the board, head of departments of the commission and various affiliated environmental agencies and departments.
