….THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS DELTANS SHOULD ASK THEIR LEADERS BEFORE 2027

….THIS IS A CITIZENS’ ACCOUNTABILITY CHECKLIST FOR THE MORE AGENDA”
Democracy is not about blind loyalty. It is about ACCOUNTABILITY. Deltans must move beyond POLITICAL SLOGANS and ask hard questions.
*1. What measurable benefits has the MORE Agenda delivered to the average Delta citizen?
2. Can you provide evidence that the quality of life of ordinary Deltans has improved since 2023?
3. How many permanent jobs have been created directly through government policies and investments?
4. How many industries have been attracted into Delta State under your administration?
5. What percentage of youth unemployment has been reduced since you assumed office?
6. How many rural communities now have access to reliable electricity compared to 2023?
*7. Why are many communities in Isoko, Ndokwa, riverine and rural areas still struggling with poor electricity supply?*
*8. What specific actions have been taken to restore electricity to communities disconnected from the national grid FOR OVER 15 TO 20 YEARS?*
9. Why do many public hospitals still face challenges related to equipment, manpower and power supply?
10. How many new hospitals have become fully functional under your administration?
11. What is being done to improve healthcare access in communities such as Isele-Uku, Igbodo and other underserved areas?
12. Why do many public schools still require urgent renovation despite annual budgets for education?
13. What specific achievements can be pointed to in public education beyond announcements and budget allocations?
*SECURITY QUESTIONS*
14. Delta State is one of Nigeria’s richest oil-producing states. Why do citizens still live under fear of robbery, kidnapping and violent crime in many communities?
15. What measurable reduction in crime has been achieved since 2023?
16. How much has Delta State spent on security initiatives since this administration came into office?
17. How many communities now enjoy improved security compared to previous years?
18. Why has technology not played a larger role in Delta’s security architecture?
19. Has the government explored AI-powered surveillance systems, smart monitoring centres, emergency response technologies, drone-assisted search and rescue, or modern crime-prevention tools used in cities around the world?

20. What lessons can Delta State learn from global examples where technology has improved public safety and emergency response?
21. Why should citizens continue trusting promises on security if they do not feel safer in their daily lives?
*TRANSPORTATION QUESTIONS*
22. Beyond road construction, how have transportation projects improved economic opportunities for citizens?
23. Have transport costs reduced for traders, farmers and commuters?
24. What rural roads have been completed that directly connect farmers to markets?
25. How many communities remain inaccessible during rainy seasons?
26. What transportation projects have directly created sustainable jobs?
27. How many transport projects have undergone independent impact assessments?
*YOUTH QUESTIONS*
28. How many young people have received sustainable employment rather than temporary empowerment programmes?
29. How many beneficiaries of youth schemes are currently employed today?
30. Why are many graduates still struggling to find opportunities despite numerous government announcements?
31. What policies have been implemented to encourage technology, innovation and entrepreneurship?
32. How many startups have been supported by the government?
33. What concrete plans exist to reduce youth migration and brain drain?
The true measure of governance is not the number of speeches delivered, projects commissioned, or political advertisements produced. The true measure of governance is the impact citizens feel in their daily lives.
Before 2027, every politician seeking votes must answer these questions with evidence, transparency and measurable results.
The future of Delta State depends not only on those who govern but also on citizens who are willing to demand ACCOUNTABILITY.
