PRESS RELEASE
…. Says Life – A Vapor that Appears for a Little Time and Vanishes After a While
…I have lost a True Friend, Brother and Partner
The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has mourned the death of Mr. Chuka Callys Mbamaluh, a seasoned Journalist with a touch of professionalism.
In a statement made available to media houses in Port Harcourt, the APC chieftain said he received the news of Cally’s demise with a rude shock from which he is yet to recover given the strong tie that united them during his sojourn on earth.
“Oh! Cally, your death has left me devastated, prompting me to rethink the essence of life. I was tipped by the Holy Spirit to send some funds to you not knowing that you are in danger after which your wife called to inform me that you have been hospitalized. Since then, my family and I have been praying for you.
When I spoke with your wife in the morning of your departure to meet with our Lord, she gave me the impression that you were getting better that you could now partially recognize people and all of a sudden your sister whom you asked me to give some assistance called me later in the day to say that you are gone.” …what is this life, it’s even like a vapor that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away after a while…”
“I am very pained by your departure, particularly your promise to ensure that the launching of my recent book on Amaechi will receive a desired publicity and with your departure, I wonder who will fill your gap and wear the big shoe that you have left behind.” Who will give the type of titles you normally give to my statements that made me call you “The Old Soldier” now that you are gone? Death why this type of blow!
Describing Mr. Chuka Callys Mbamaluh as an extraordinary Journalist who has carved a niche for himself in the art of journalism, Eze said the deceased was unassuming and amiable personality who had in various ways encouraged and motivated him in the struggle to enthrone true democracy in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.
While I take solace in the word of God which states that “blessed are the dead who died in the Lord”, I return thanks to God that you are now resting peacefully in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“As we continue to mourn your departure, be encouraged that one day we will meet not to leave each other again.”
Rest Continually in Peace Callys.
