Dangote to Reduce Petrol Prices before Launching of Fuel Distribution Program on August 15.

A ₦720 billion ($450 million) investment is supporting an initiative to roll out 4,000 trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). These trucks will transport petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel straight to consumers, eliminating the need for middlemen and aiming to significantly reduce fuel prices at the pump.

This innovative strategy directly addresses Nigeria’s long-standing supply chain issues and significantly reduces logistics expenses, enabling Dangote to redefine the competitive dynamics of the nation’s downstream oil sector.

Industry experts have suggested that the refinery might be planning to lower its ex-depot petrol prices ahead of the planned rollout in August.

“There might be a downward review before August 15 to facilitate the rollout of the 4,000-truck distribution plan across Nigeria,” a source said.
