The Irigwe ethnic nationality of Plateau State on Monday condemned the killing of 10 persons and destruction of property in Ta’agbe community of the Bassa Local Government Area by suspected Fulani bandits.
Acting under the aegis of Coalition of Irigwe Professionals for Peace and National Development, they described the fresh killings as reprehensible and provocative.
The CIPPND in a statement by its national President, Dr James Chohu, charged Irigwe stakeholders on the urgent need to raise their voices in condemnation of the dastardly act.
Chohu said, “We condemn in strong terms the killing of 10 people and destruction of property in Ta’agbe community of the Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, last week, and describe same as not only barbaric, but premeditated, provocative, and reprehensible.”
He disclosed that investigation carried out by the group showed that troops of OPSH arrived at the community barely 15 minutes after the attackers stormed the village.
He urged security operatives to track the attackers, isolate and arrest them.
