Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LSBCA), is inviting interested consultants in the built environment registered with relevant professional bodies to indicate interest in the State Building Certified Accreditors Programme (CAP).
The Public-Private initiative referred to as CAP, is aimed at leveraging on the peculiar expertise and experience of private sector professionals to further accelerate LASBCA’s effectiveness towards optimum service delivery to actualize its operational mandates of ensuring all new and existing buildings in Lagos State are constructed fit for human habitation and avert incidence of building collapses.
Commenting on the call for expression of interest, the General Manager of LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki said that Lagos State is set to engage Consultants who will act as Certified Accreditors to complement the activities of Government officials in the screening of drawings, stage inspections and monitoring activities for compliance with the Lagos State Building Control Regulations.
He disclosed that the programmr is in line with the policy of the State Government in making Lagos sustainable, resilient and attractive to businesses through Physical Planning and Urban Development.
Oki further disclosed that the present administration would consider consultants in the built environment duly registered to practice in Nigeria and with proven capabilities, considerable experience, track records of good performance and must be registered members of their respective professional bodies.
He, therefore, called on interested members of the public with the requisite qualifications/requirements in the built environment to obtain an Expression of Interest Form upon payment of the stipulated fee from the General Manager’s Office at the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) Headquarters, Room 101, First Floor, Muiz Banire Way, Old Secretariat, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday from 3rd June till 12th July 2024.
Oki further noted that the collection of expression of Interest form does not constitute a commitment on the part of the State and/or the Lagos State Building Control Agency to award the project to any consultant(s) expressing interest and submission of documents which closes on the 31st of July shall not entitle any of the interested parties to any claim against the State and/or Lagos State Building Control Agency by such party having responded to the expression of Interest.
Recall that the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Building Control Agency, recently called for expression of interest from consultants in the built industry in three national newspapers published on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
