CAS Visits Minister of Power: Bolsters Strategic Synergy for Enhanced National Security and Development

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, today, 25 June 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, as part of efforts to deepen inter-agency collaboration and explore strategic partnerships between the defence and energy sectors in Nigeria. In the words of Air Marshal Abubakar, “When we collaborate strategically, we create a force larger than ourselves, one that serves the people with precision, reliability, and purpose.”

During the high-level meeting, held at the Federal Ministry of Power Headquarters in Abuja, the CAS emphasised the crucial link between national security and energy infrastructure, noting that power stability is indispensable to operational readiness, logistics, and broader national development. He also stated that the Nigerian Air Force has continually invested in the protection of power infrastructure across the country. The visit forms part of the CAS’s broader drive to institutionalise inter-agency cooperation across all tiers of national service delivery.

The Minister of Power expressed gratitude to the CAS and commended the NAF for its professionalism and significant contributions to national security. Recognising the importance of safeguarding power infrastructure in conflict-prone areas, Chief Adelabu pledged the Ministry’s continued support in addressing power-related challenges affecting NAF bases nationwide and his willingness to further strengthen existing relationship between the NAF and the Ministry.
