The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed it has official reports and video footage indicating possible misconduct involving certain players and officials. The incidents are alleged to have occurred during the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final matches at Morocco 2025, featuring Cameroon vs. Morocco and Algeria vs. Nigeria.

 

In a statement, CAF disclosed that the matters have been formally referred to its Disciplinary Committee for thorough investigation, with appropriate sanctions to be imposed should any breaches of regulations be established.

CAF also stated that it is carefully reviewing video evidence relating to alleged inappropriate conduct by some media representatives in the mixed zone.

 

The Confederation reiterated its strong condemnation of all forms of misconduct during its competitions, particularly actions directed at match officials or organisers. CAF emphasised that any individual found to have acted below the professional and ethical standards expected at its tournaments will face decisive disciplinary action.
