Nigeria’s 24-man Super Eagles squad and technical staff boycotted training on Tuesday in protest over unpaid bonuses and allowances owed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The outstanding payments reportedly date back to 2021 and include bonuses from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and recent World Cup qualifiers.

The protest comes just two days before the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying semifinal clash against Gabon, part of a mini-tournament for Africa’s top runners-up.

Sources say the NFF has opened emergency talks to address the situation, though no official statement has been released as players and staff await a resolution.
