The Rural Electrification Agency has released ₦9 billion to support the rollout of solar mini-grid projects across Taraba, Kogi, Kwara, and Niger States, as part of efforts to expand electricity access in underserved communities.
The funding is structured under a performance-based grant framework within the agency’s Distributed Access through Renewable Energy Scale-up Programme.

It is backed by a ₦100 billion agreement with Lotus Bank, aimed at accelerating the deployment of clean and reliable energy solutions.

The initiative is expected to improve power supply in rural areas, boost local economies, and support sustainable development through renewable energy adoption.
