The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Osun State Chapter, has given a strong and unanimous endorsement to Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.
The pensioners cited the governor’s consistent commitment to their welfare as the major reason for their support.Speaking during the endorsement ceremony, NUP Osun State Chairman, S. Ola Odefisayo, described the occasion as historic and memorable for retirees in the state.
“Governor Adeleke’s administration has transformed the lives of pensioners through people-centered policies and compassionate governance,” he said.
Odefisayo particularly praised the free medical services under the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), prompt payment of pensions, and the implementation of a ₦25,000 minimum pension.
He listed other achievements of the administration including the payment of inherited half-salary deductions, donation of a bus to pensioners, provision of borehole facilities, and consistent payment of contributory pension obligations.
The NUP Chairman stressed that the endorsement was not mere praise-singing but a sincere recognition of good governance.
While appreciating the governor’s efforts, he appealed for the settlement of outstanding gratuities and pension adjustments.
