Worried by the delay in payment of salaries since the migration to the Government Integrated Financial and Management Information System, GIFMIS platform, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, has appealed to the Accountant General of the Federation to swiftly intervene in the matter.
President of SSANU, Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim said the Union had written a letter to the office of the Accountant General where it expressed dismay over the persistent delay since the university based unions exited from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS payment platform.

In a statement the SSANU President added It was regrettable that, since exit from IPPIS, the salaries of our members are often paid two weeks after salaries have been disbursed to other federal workers.
He called on the office of the Accountant General of the Federal to urgently investigate and address this issue by ensuring that university workers receive their salaries in line with the general federal payment schedule to prevent any industrial disharmony.
