The Federal Government has launched the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank, a digital platform designed to secure, digitise, and authenticate academic records across tertiary institutions.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, announced the initiative during a national capacity building programme for institutional representatives.
According to the ministry, the platform is intended to strengthen education data governance and protect the integrity of academic credentials in Nigeria.

The system has already integrated more than 250 tertiary institutions and enrolled over 133,000 students and 6,800 lecturers, while preserving nearly 100,000 digital student submissions within four months of implementation.
The ministry also disclosed that participation in the platform will become a requirement for participation in or exemption from the National Youth Service Corps scheme.
