Boko Haram terrorists had in April 14, 2014 attacked the school and abducted 276 girls.

The attack generated a lot of reactions from within and outside the country.

57 of the girls were said to have escaped by jumping from the trucks shortly after their abduction while 80 were released in exchange for some detained Boko Haram commanders following negotiations with the Nigerian government.

The military in June rescued some of the girls with children.

In a statement on Wednesday on its official Twitter handle, the Army said the girls were intercepted during a clearance operation and had been taken for medical treatment.

The statement read, “Troops of 202 Battalion, during clearance operations on July 25, 2022, intercepted four abducted women, including two girls kidnapped by Boko Haram from GGSS Chibok on April 14, 2014.

“The intercepted Chibok girls and their children are currently in a military medical facility.”
