
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori approved the release of N10 billion to clear pension backlogs inherited from previous administrations. Governor Oborevwori announced the decision during a meeting with the Bureau for State Pension and the Association of Contributory Retirees at Government House, Asaba led by the bureauās Chairman, Sir. Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje

The Governor explained that while his administration is not owing pensioners, the intervention was necessary to offset liabilities carried over from the past and to harmonise governmentās pension responsibilities.
Governor Oborevwori directed pension officials to ensure transparent disbursement of the funds, stressing that the welfare of retirees would remain a priority of his administration.
