An aide to Osun State governor, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress would win the July 16 governorship election in the state by a wide margin.

Oyintiloye, who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, said a victory for APC and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola at the poll, would enable him to build on achievements he had so far recorded since assuming leadership of the state.

The governor’s aide said this during an engagement meeting organised by the Civic Engagement Office with members of the state chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria in Osogbo on Sunday.

Oyintiloye, who represented the governor, at the meeting also appealed to the electorate not to be deceived by desperate politicians.

The governor’s aide, who noted that Oyetola had been serving the state diligently since the beginning of his administration, advised that those who lacked administrative capacity must not be allowed to truncate the development the state is currently witnessing.

He said, “We hope that the APC will win the July 16 Osun governorship election by a wide margin. The electorate are on the side of our governor, his achievements are there to speak for him and God is willing to crown our efforts.

“I want to appeal to the electorate to resist the temptation of selling their votes to desperate politicians. Osun is not for sale, neither are the people of the state for sale.

“Those who are bragging around with dollars to win the election have nothing to offer. They are only desperate to get power without anything tangible thing to offer the state and we must not allow them to have access to our treasury.

“His second term will be for service more than ever before. He will not relent because that is why he is the governor. Welfare of the masses, prompt payment of workers’ salaries, pension, empowerment, youth engagement, improved economy, health, education, infrastructure among others will not stop.”

He then warned politicians against involving in violence, adding election should not be seen as a do-or-die affair and that anyone caught perpetrating violence before, during and after the election would be dealt with in accordance with the dictate of the law.

Speaking on the governor’s plan for farmers, Oyintiloye assured that his administration would continue to support them with necessary farm inputs and implements, noting that the administration has set aside 1,000 hectares of land for farming to boost food sufficiency and make the state the food basket of the South-west zone.
