President Bola Tinubu has claimed that solving Nigeria’s socio-economic problems is hectic but he and his government will not relent because they begged Nigerians to choose them during the 2023 general elections.

Tinubu, who mentioned this on Thursday during the inauguration of the National Economic Council, reaffirmed his desire to work with relevant bodies and institutions to achieve the desired economic growth for Nigeria.

The president however said that, he was aware of how Nigerians desired instant change in economic development in order to ease the hardships they had been subjected to for years.

Hear him, “It is also evidenced that the task of growing our economy is quite enormous but you and I ask for it, we campaign for it; even danced for it, we begged for it. So we have no reason to complain. We must annex the growth potentials of Nigeria and bring about serious development; to bring us from potential nation, to a pragmatic economic development rapid manner. Their expectation is on the NEC, as a verifiable source of articulating policy and programme, I cannot overemphasise that.

“It is also reassuring to note that the public, members of the public are behind us. They want reforms, and they want it quick, to have a meaningful impact in their lives. We have enormous challenges facing us,” he added.

Recalling that SaharaReporters earlier reported that Tinubu inaugurated the NEC on Thursday morning and maybe Vice-President, Kashim Shettima its head.
