An American electric vehicle manufacturer, Saglev has commenced the production of electric cars at its assembly plant in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Saglev’s CEO, Sam Faleye, had some time last year revealed plans to commence operations at its advanced EV assembly plant in Lagos.
He mentioned that a fully charged electric vehicle can cover up to 300 kilometres on a single charge, equivalent to driving from Oshodi to Ajah ten times.
Faleye added that charging these vehicles is infrequent, requiring only once or twice per week, with a full charge taking approximately four hours using a level two charger.
However, the commencement of the electric vehicle production was disclosed in a video shared by the Special Assistant to Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Thursday, June 27.
The caption reads: “It is great to see #saglev has commenced the production of electric cars at its state-of-the-art assembly plant in Ikorodu, Lagos.”
