It is possible that many might not know him because of the looming image of the senior brother Alhaji Alike Dangote, Africa’s richest man. He wasn’t inclined to hugging the limelight. However Alhaji Sanni Dangote was an outstanding fellow in his own right.
He was prodigiously intelligent, simple and unassuming. His investment in Dansa Foods made our paths to cross when he hired our company as his advertising agency to introduce Dansa Juice and Milk into the Nigerian market. His interest in the creative process was deep and engaging and that perhaps accounted for the personal chemistry we developed in the course of building his brands. He could have been a successful adman if he had taken to the field.
His demise came as a shock. Notwithstanding, he gave a good account of his stay here on earth through his hugely unsung contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.
I pray that Almighty God give him external rest and the Dangote Family and Group the fortitude to bear his loss.
