The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) says Nigeria’s power generation on the grid declined by 7.15 percent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025 compared to the second quarter (Q2) of the year.
In a report on Tuesday, NERC said the average hourly output on the grid in Q3 2025 stood at 4,179.15 megawatt-hour (MWh) per hour, translating to a total generation of 9,227.57 gigawatt-hour (GWh).


According to the report, total generation decreased from 9,830.31GWh recorded in Q2 to 9,227.57GWh in Q3, representing a decline of 602.74GWh.
