Again, Lagos Seals 26 Bars, Lounges in Lekki Over Noise Pollution

The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, through the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has sealed 26 bars and lounges in Lekki Phase 1 for persistent noise pollution and operating open bars despite repeated warnings.

The enforcement exercise, carried out on Wednesday, targeted popular establishments including Farm City, Kingfisher, Beer Barn, Sailors Lounge, Bay Lounge, Circa Lagos, HQ Rooftop Lounge, Rango Rooftop Lounge, and The Mood Lagos, among others.

 

According to a statement by Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the crackdown followed numerous complaints from residents about excessive noise levels and non-compliance with environmental regulations.

 

The statement reads: “Today, the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE through the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency #LasepaOfficial sealed a number of bars and lounges in Lekki Phase 1 for persistent noise pollution and operating open bars in defiance of repeated warnings.

 

“They were: Farm City, Admiralty Way; Kingfisher, 1 Admiralty Way; D Code Exclusive Lounge, 10 Wole Olateju Crescent; Light House Bar and Grill, 12E Admiralty Way; Terraform Restaurant and Bar, 14 Wole Olateju Way; Beer Barn, 32A Admiralty Way; Bay Lounge, Admiralty Road; Bolivar, Wole Olateju Way; Savor Lounge, Admiralty Road; Sailors Lounge, Admiralty Road; Red Bar, 4B Wole Olateju Way; Circa Lagos, Admiralty Way; The Mood Lagos, Lennox Mall, Admiralty Way; HQ Rooftop Lounge, 62A Fola Osibo Road; Rango Rooftop Lounge, 26 Prince Adelowo Adedeji; LIIT Social House, 1313 Luxury Apartments, Admiralty Road; Native Tray, 19 Admiralty Way; E Bar Metro, 20 Admiralty Way; Medusa Lekki, 3 Ogbunike Street; Mabaya Lounge, 2A Admiralty Way; The Corner, 77 Admiralty Way; Switch 1922 Lounge and Grill, 1 Dr Ladi Alakija Street; Bayrock, Adebayo Doherty Road; HOV, 8 Wole Olateju Way; The Peacock Lagos, 8 Wole Olateju Way; Ivy Bar, 23 Babatunde Anjous Road.
