The Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Isah Miqdad, has initiated the first-ever digital club aimed at empowering indigenes with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Zaharaddeen Muazu Rafindadi, on Saturday, September 20, the council described the project as a landmark step toward digitalizing the Local Government through the construction of a Digital Hub Centre — the first of its kind in Katsina LG.
According to the statement, the hub, located within the Council Secretariat Complex, will serve as a training ground where indigenes can acquire relevant digital skills to compete in today’s knowledge-driven economy. Once completed, the centre will be fully equipped with modern digital gadgets, providing a facility for capacity building, innovation, and technological advancement.
Hon. Isah Miqdad noted that the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and bridging the digital divide at the grassroots level. He added that the project will open opportunities for young people, inspire entrepreneurship, and foster self-reliance within the community.
The construction of the Digital Hub Centre marks a significant milestone in the modernization of Katsina Local Government and underscores Miqdad’s vision to transform the council into a hub of innovation and development.
