Again, Gov Otti to Unveils Sanitary Inspectors in Abia to Promote Hygiene…details
Information commissioner Okey Kanu disclosed this during a press briefing on the outcome of the weekly State Executive Council meeting in Umuahia.

Mr Kanu said the move was part of the ongoing Abia Clean-Up Initiative to ensure residents had a cleaner and healthier environment.
The commissioner said, “The decision to bring back sanitary inspectors stems from the understanding that a clean environment plays a crucial role in the overall health and well-being of the people.
“This initiative will be spearheaded by the state’s Ministry of Environment and the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency.”
Mr Kanu said over the past few months, the government had recorded significant achievements in environmental sanitation, particularly in Aba, a city once known for its poor waste management.
He however, noted that the streets previously littered with heaps of refuse had been transformed, showcasing the present administration’s commitment to a cleaner Abia.
The commissioner said to sustain this progress, the sanitary inspectors would have the task of enforcing environmental health regulations to prevent the outbreak of diseases associated with poor sanitation.
