The Federal Government has called on food vendors and retailers to adjust their prices downward and refrain from exploiting consumers.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari criticized retailers for their indifference in maintaining high prices despite the decrease in both processed and unprocessed food items.

He noted that the federal government is aware of the significant decline in food prices across major markets, especially for essential commodities such as flour, sugar, rice, and pasta.
However, he expressed concern that many retailers, bakers, and shop owners continue to sell their products at inflated prices, thereby denying Nigerians the relief they deserve.
