The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to building sustainable road infrastructure as a driver of national growth, economic stability, and public safety, with the Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, stating that road transport accounts for over 90 per cent of passenger and freight movement in Nigeria and remains critical to productivity and development.

The Minister warned against road abuse such as overloading and unauthorized use, commended efforts by FERMA and key stakeholders, and highlighted government initiatives including Public Private Partnerships, life cycle costing, climate-resilient materials, and the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund to ensure durable, safer, and world-class road networks.
