Again, FG Extends Supports to Gombe State, Signs Landmark Livestock Advancement MoU with New Zealand
The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, witnessed the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Gombe State Government and New Zealand’s Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) in Hamilton, New Zealand. Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya signed for Gombe State, while Jason Schrirer signed for LIC, aiming to advance livestock production, processing, and marketing in the state.

The MoU focuses on four pillars: animal breeding and biotechnology, capacity building and knowledge exchange, data and technology infrastructure, and sustainable, climate-resilient livestock production. Driven by the Gombe State Government with support from the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, the partnership aligns with Nigeria’s broader livestock transformation agenda, boosting productivity, innovation, and sustainability.
