Again, FG Commissions 100kW Solar Mini Grid in Kaduna to Boost Rural Power Supply

The Federal Government has commissioned a 100kW Solar Mini Grid in Damau community, Kubau Local Government Area, Kaduna State, as part of efforts to expand reliable and sustainable electricity access to rural communities. The project was commissioned by Dr. Abba Aliyu, Managing Director/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), alongside the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, CON, under REA’s 2024 Capital Projects.

Speaking at the commissioning, Dr. Aliyu highlighted that reliable power delivery is most impactful when leadership is people-centred, noting that the project demonstrates effective collaboration between the Federal Government and subnational authorities. The mini grid is expected to improve electricity access for households, businesses, and public facilities, stimulate local economic activities, and enhance quality of life in Kubau LGA, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
