The policy underpinning AFRIPERF seeks to provide a unified platform for petroleum regulators to exchange ideas, align frameworks, and establish common standards for the industry.

This collaboration will enhance cross-border cooperation, reduce policy inconsistencies, and boost investor confidence. By presenting a collective African voice on regulatory matters, AFRIPERF positions the continent as a stronger player in global energy governance.

One of the forum’s key objectives is to attract greater investment into Africa’s oil and gas sector.

By harmonising rules and providing clearer operating environments, AFRIPERF will reduce investor uncertainty and create opportunities for large-scale infrastructure projects, joint ventures, and financing partnerships that can drive economic growth across member states.

Beyond investment, AFRIPERF also prioritises sustainability, energy transition, and regional stability.

By aligning regulatory frameworks, member countries will be better equipped to adopt clean energy policies, manage resources responsibly, and strengthen local content participation. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform-driven administration, Nigeria’s leadership in this initiative reflects its commitment not only to domestic energy security but also to shared continental prosperity
