Construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the three flyovers; DSC Roundabout, PTI junction and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate, as well as the Effurun junction pedestrian and road expansion projects are delivered according to specifications.

These projects are essential and timely for the revamping of commercial and business activities in the state, and more particularly for the restoration of Warri status as the commercial nerve of Delta State. The governor is totally committed and promised to do the needful to showcase Delta as one of the major commercial hub in Nigeria, and by extension, Africa.

It is hoped that the Warri and Koko seaports would soon receive attention from the federal government. Therefore, the flyovers under construction by this administration is a welcome development to facilitate economic growth, as well as required road networks to enhance transportation of products, goods and services flowing from the oil and gas sector, seaports activities and commercial transactions.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on New Media, Billy Egbe, who was on working visit to the construction sites reported that Julius Berger is already on ground with earthmoving equipment, doing what it knows best to do; constructing durable and high quality roads network in the three major locations and Effurun junction which cut across Delta Central and Delta South Senatorial Districts.

It is a well known fact that governor Sheriff Oborevwori upon assumption of office on May 29, 2023, assured Deltans that his administration would embark on mega infrastructure projects in the three senatorial districts of Delta Central, North and South respectively.

He matched words with actions, and construction giant, Julius Berger was contracted for the first time in the state to handle major roads infrastructure projects. This is remarkable as governor Oborevwori etched his name on gold.

The governor also assured that Warri and environ, which is the commercial nerve of Delta State shall receive the needed attention in terms of infrastructure development to boost commercial activities that would restore the flourishing multifaceted commercial transactions that hitherto cut across oil and gas, small and medium enterprises, tourism, sports, et al.

It is the strong desire of governor Oborevwori to also do the needful to encourage multinational oil companies which in years past relocated their operational headquarters from Warri, to of a necessity return to the Oil City in the near future, which is why government is investing heavily in infrastructure development, peace building and security architecture of the state to earn investors confidence.

To achieve his noble objectives, governor Oborevwori is consistently working behind the scene with members of his cabinet to initiate and implement realistic reforms that would drive socioeconomic growth in all sectors of the state economy, and to also invest substantially in quality health care for students in institutions of higher learning via the newly introduced Tertiary Institutions Students Insurance Programme, TISIP. The state overall health plan also cover all Deltans, with emphasis on young adults, children and pregnant women.

Very soon, the master plan for the reconstruction of Warri Township Stadium will be ready. According to governor Oborevwori, the Stadium is long overdue for attention, and that his plan is to upgrade it to a world class sports facility to host national and international sport events, so as to further project Warri as one of the major sports hub in Africa.

It follows that the mega flyovers, road expansion projects and pedestrian bridges at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate, shall upon completion boost commercial activities, solve traffic dreadlock problems in those areas, create additional jobs due to foreseeable influx of local and foreign investors, as well as encourage multinational oil companies to relocate their headquarters to Delta State.

The ongoing construction projects by the State government is already providing job for both skilled and unskilled workers, creating wealth for suppliers, food vendors, consultants and for artisans and traders at construction sites and environ. This is what good governance is all about and governor Oborevwori via the instrumentality of his MORE agenda is “Advancing Delta” in a unique way that places him in a class all by himself.

It is expected that people living around construction sites and the general public should help to protect Julius Berger equipment, give the construction engineers and the entire workforce the needed cooperation to deliver the projects on time. This is our collective responsibility as patriotic Deltans.
