President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
Gbenga Alade was appointed as the Managing Director/CEO while Aminu Ismail became Executive Director.
Others are Adeshola Lamidi (Executive Director) and Lucky Adaghe (Executive Director).
Also approved to serve in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy are Abraham Oshadami, Executive Commissioner, Technical Services;
Rimini Makama, Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi, President/CEO, Digital Bridge Institute.
However, the appointments made under the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) are Abiodun Attah, Executive Director, Technical Services; Aisha Abdullahi, Executive Director, Finance & Administration, and Jaiyeola Awokoya — Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development.
Under the Galaxy Backbone (BB) Limited, appointments include Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO; Mohammed Sani Ibrahim, Executive Director, Finance & Corporate Services; Olusegun Olulade, Executive Director, Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe, Executive Director, Digital Exploration & Technical Services.
According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), the president expects unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent, and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.
It added that with the reconstitution of the management teams in these agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Tinubu “anticipates that these seasoned professionals will deliver excellent service to elevate the impact of the digital economy sector on the socio-economic development of the nation.”
