Rotary Club of Rumuomasi Presents Cash Gifts to Indigent Students to Enroll for JAMB Exams

The Rotary Club of Rumuomasi has presented the sum of one hundred and forty thousand naira to fourteen indigents students of community secondary school Rumuomasi to enroll for the Joint Admissions Matriculation and Board, JAMB exams.

President of the Rotary Club of Rumuomasi Taiwo Olayeni said the scholarships is part of the club’s commitment to advancing quality education in it’s host community.

He said the goal goes beyond merely providing quality education,but extends to offering unique opportunities that will adequately prepare these students for tertiary education.

 

“This gesture stands as a cornerstone initiative undertaken by the club with the primary objective of elevating the literacy standards in our host community. Education is pivotal, and the key lies in affording everyone willing to study the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education”, the Rotarian President said.

On his part, Rotary District Governor Elect, Chinedu Ikeguwani while unveiling the Rotary International Four Way Test sign post in the school premises, said the initiative is a testament to the Rotary International ‘s commitment to ensuring that education becomes accessible to all.

 

“In Rotary, the month of February focuses on Peace Building and Conflict Prevention. This Four way test commissioned here will help the students here to be law abiding and peaceful. The Rotary four way test is a basic for preaching peace. If everyone should live by it, the world will be a better place for all. We are also proud of the Rotary Club of Rumuomasi for availing the indigent students the opportunity to further their education “, Ikeguwani said

 

The immediate past President of the club Sam Ufort highlighted the significance of attempting the JAMB exams, describing it as a critical step towards achieving success in the students’ respective careers.

 

He offered advice to the beneficiaries, urging them to concentrate on their studies and aspire for excellence in their educational pursuits, while calling upon parents to provide their wards with ample time to focus on their studies.
