Sad As AIT Looses 2 Staffs On Ill-fated Boat Mishap, NUJ DAAR Chair Condoles

The African Independent Television (AIT) has lost its first Kakaaki presenter, Jika Attoh, and current presenter, Perry Tukuwei.

This was made known in a statement in  issued by Nigeria Union of Journalists, Daar Communication Chapter in Abuja.

 

It reads, “The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ DAAR Chairman, Patrick Abulu, on behalf of the executives and entire members has received with shock the death of a former staff of DAAR communications, Jika Attoh, which occurred on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

 

”The NUJ DAAR chairman condoles with the family of Late Jika Attoh, the Board and Management of DAAR ‘ommunications Plc.

 

“Jika Attoh, who died in Enugu, South East Nigeria, was the first co-presenter of kakaaki, when the programme was renamed in late 90s.He was a mentor, Broadcast journalism teacher and a unique M.C to say the least.

 

” The NUJ DAAR also used the statement to mourn the sudden and unfortunate death of a vibrant, young, energetic and broadcast journalist and presenter on Kakaaki, Perry Tukuwei, who died in an ill-fated boat mishap in Yenagoa on Wednesday, October 25.

 

” The union condoles with Tukuwei’s young family, the kakaaki production crew, the newsroom management, DAAR management and board.”
