Speaking on his vision for the organisation, the Managing Director disclosed that the new strategic plan is anchored on the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Mr. Governor.

While emphasising the need for open communication and collaboration with staff and other stakeholders, Engr. Mukhtar pointed out that the organisation has many projects in progress which would yield positive results in the future.

He maintained that the corporation is focusing on identifying and serving a smaller, unique segment in the market to save a lot of time and effort while focusing on creating added value.

The first step according to him is to assess the existing water distribution network and evaluate the needs and demands of various areas served by the agency before reallocating resources and services to increase value.

He revealed that the corporation will identify key areas or zones critical for water supply and where resources can result in the greatest value.

“The corporation will need to modify its infrastructure to ensure that the chosen areas receive a reliable and high-quality water supply. This will include infrastructure upgrades and reconfiguration of distribution networks”, he submitted.

He also noted that the selected areas are likely to have the most significant water demand, but this decision would be made after the evaluation of existing infrastructure in these areas.

The Managing Director, who further expressed his commitment to transparency and accountability, implored community members, media outlets and other stakeholders to support the growth of the Agency in the delivery of quality services.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), LWC Chapter, Mr. Gafar Semakko, disclosed that the plan requires open and transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Revealing that building trust and addressing stakeholders’ concerns is key to fulfilling the set objective, the Chairman acknowledged the competence of members of staff in the effective implementation of the plan.

The Executive Director of Operations, Lagos State Water Corporation, Engr. Helen Taiwo explained that all organisations at every point in time face challenges, and the best way to address them is to adopt a strategy that would guide them into a new era of change and success.

She applauded the commitment of the Managing Director to develop and implement a new strategy to promote the overall success of the corporation
