ASSESSMENT TOUR: COMMISSIONER FOR WATERFRONT ASSURES OF QUALITY PROJECT DELIVERY

The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Yacoob Ekundayo Alebiosu on Monday continued his tour of ongoing projects under the Ministry with inspection of project sites along the Badagry Division of the State.

Speaking at the site of the ongoing Apa jetty, Hon. Alebiosu reiterated the State Government’s commitment to delivering quality and durable waterfront infrastructure to the citizens of the State.

He stated that the monitoring of projects and assessment tour of facilities under the purview of the Ministry will be a continuous exercise to ensure prompt delivery of assigned projects, ensuring the projects are completed according to specifications while being mindful of the highest safety standards.

Hon. Alebiosu enjoined contractors handling the Ministry’s projects to use the best materials as the use of substandard materials would not be tolerated by the Ministry. He also warned that any contractor found wanting would be disengaged and blacklisted.

The Commissioner, who was accompanied on the tour by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Gbajumo and other Management staff of the Ministry, also visited the VIP Chalet Jetty Badagry, Badagry Marina reclamation and shoreline protection project along the Badagry and Ilashe Periwinkle corridor.
