Recent information has shown that a former England striker Trevor John Francis died at the age of 69.

Recalling that Trevor was the first British player to be transferred for one million pounds.

 

Francis achieved fame at Birmingham City and was a prolific striker during his prime, scoring 118 goals in 280 matches for his childhood club.

 

In 1979, he also made a monumental move from Birmingham City to Nottingham Forest, becoming the first British player to be transferred for such a significant amount in history.

 

Brian Clough’s Forest team paid an enormous fee of £1,150,000 for his services, with Clough clarifying that the higher figure was an attempt to ease the pressure off his high-value acquisition.
