PORTHACOURT: Rotary Club Patners Chairborne Global services, To Promote Quality Learning/Teaching

As part of ways of improving Basic Education in Rivers State, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan has renovated some dilapidated learning facilities at the School For Special Need Children, Town, Port Harcourt.

 

The club renovated a classroom block, the school library, Computer classroom and fixed the bad water bore hole sumo pump. Also donation of thirty desks for ninety students.

President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan, Izobe Spiff said the project was carried out under one of the Rotary International areas of focus, Basic Education and Literacy, to improve the quality of learning and teaching in the state.

 

She said “ With part sponsorship from our super supportive donor partner Chairborne Global services limited, we were able to renovate a classroom block and furnish it with 30 sitting desks for 90 students of the School for the Special Needs Children Creek Road, Town, Port Harcourt. The club also fixed the falling roof of the school library and their computer ICT classroom. Other projects carried out too include the changing of sumo pump for their water bore hole which wasn’t working. As Rotarians the realization and commissioning of this project gives us real joy. The project has given the children a condusive learning environment which will help them”.

 

On his part, Rotary International, District nine one four one Governor, Mightyman Aye-Dikoru during the commissioning of the star project of the club, said over seven million primary and secondary school pupils have benefitted from its Dusk to Desk project across the four South South states under the district within the 2022/2023 Rotary year.

 

Mightyman Aye-Dikoru while commending the Rotary club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan for carrying out the golden project, called on more philanthropic personalities to join the Rotary International organization to increase the humanitarian services of the organization so as to reach more needy people in the society.

 

On her part, representative of the Zonal Rivers State Senior Secondary School’s Board Owemanam Tetita while appreciating the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan for the rare gesture said the organization has written their name with gold given the life changing projects to the host community and the students.
