SaharaReporters reported that Buhari had on Sunday during his nationwide broadcast to mark the end of his administration told Nigerians that after handing over to his successor on Monday he would return to Daura, Katsina to look after his cattle.

SaharaReporters reported that Buhari had on Sunday during his nationwide broadcast to mark the end of his administration has already told Nigerians that after handing over to his successor on Monday he would return to Daura, Katsina to look after his cattle.

 

And that he just fulfilled today Monday and will be cooling off in his hometown, ready to comtinue his cattle busineee even though he claimed that he found it easier to control his cattle and sheep than fellow Nigerians.

 

Buhari has been President for the last eight years, starting from May 29, 2015 till date, May 29, 2023.

 

However, he handed over to Bola Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria for tenure of four years and renewable for another term of four years if elected.

 

A short video of Buhari’s welcome sighted by SaharaReporters showed hundreds of school children lined up on the road, shouting to welcome him.

During his speech at a pre-inauguration Gala Night on Sunday, Buhari had expressed his desire to return to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State to focus on his farm animals.

 

In his statement he expressed, “I am looking forward to tomorrow to fly to my base to go and meet my cattle and sheep, which are much easier to control than fellow Nigerians. But I have to reduce their number, because I cannot save enough to buy them feeds.”
