SDP Solidly Behind Gbagi, Did Not Withdraw Case Against Oborevwori – Says Owotorufa

The totally confused and already dissolved Oke Idawene-led Delta State Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has since been shown the way out of the party, thereby resulting in his new romance with their new found paymaster, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

 

In a statement on Thursday 4th May, 2023, the National Vice Chairman, South South Elder Fred E. Owotorufa, MNIM, CFE, FICA disclosed this to newsmen, debunking a spurious report that the party has dumped its gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 election, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, OON.

He noted that: “Our party, the Social Democratic Party is solidly and unequivocally behind the governorship candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, OON and will pursue the election petition it instituted against the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Sheriff Oborevwori and 11 others to a logical conclusion.

 

“The case is pending before the Delta State Governorship Election Tribunal at Asaba. We will not waver under any circumstance ” He maintained that “both the Party and its candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi have implicit confidence in the Judiciary to dispense justice in the case without fear or favour”.

 

Alaowei Owotorufa urged the public and teeming supporters of the SDP and Gbagi, to disregard any statement or comments by the dissolved Idawene-led executive as the rantings of some drowning and reprobate individuals undeserving of any further comments.

 

He assured Deltans and the teeming supporters of the Party and Gbagi, that the Caretaker Committee will refocus and reposition the party to deliver the dividends of democracy that are rooted in good governance and social justice.
