…as APC Aniocha North LGA exco nullifies Onochie’s suspension.
It was gathered that the turn table has favoured Madam Lauretta Onochie as the executive committee of the Aniocha North of All Progressives Congress in Delta State nullifies the purported suspension order on her by the APC Onicha-Olona ward 04 executive in the local government area.
This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s LGA Chairman Sir Matthew Chinye andsecretary respectively, Pastor David Onwuamaeze, on behalf of a seventeen person executive, noting that ”the ward executive erred by not communicating perceived allegations against Madam Onochie to the LGA executive, a body statutorily recognized as the adjudicatory body in the first instance, as enshrined in section of 21 of the party’s constitution, but rather shunted the due process by contacting the state executive committee.
However, the release further posited that after a painstaking scrutiny, it was discovered that majority of signatories to the said suspension, were impersonators as executive members, which is an offence going by section 21A(iv) of the party constitution.
Similarly, the executive body faulted the ward 4 executive of “placing the cart before the horse” as it’s purported suspension order had gone viral, ostensibly disseminated by some of the perpetrators of the illegal act.
To this end, the resolution insist that even as the APC ward 04 shelved due process in handling the situation, the LGA executive committee must follow due process to set up fact finding/disciplinary committee to ascertain the allegations and breaches of due process.
It therefore maintained that, “Nevertheless, this new position nullifies the suspension of Ms. Lauretta Onochie until the fact finding committee’s adjudication on the matter is made known. This we shall do in good fate and with regards to the provisions of the party constitution.”
