Following the gubernatorial polls result, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has today declared the governorship candidate of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Abba Kabir Yusuf the true winner of the last Saturday election in Kano State.

Also, it was gathered that, Yusuf defeated his close rival from the All Progressive Congress, (APC) candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna with a over 100,000 votes.
The candidate of the NNPP in the Saturday, February 25 presidential election, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who hails from Kano State handed over to Abdullahi Ganduje, the current governor after his reign as governor of the state.
Abba Kabir Yusuf is the son-in-law of Kwankwaso. He served in the Executive Council of Kano State from 2011 to 2015 while testimonies reveals that Kwankwaso’s image looms large in Kano politics and Yusuf’s election confirms the overwhelming influence of the former governor in the state, particularly in beating Gawuna, the candidate of the ruling party in the state.
