Following the Assembly election polls result, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Marcus Onobun of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has been declared the winner of the rescheduled election in the Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituencies.
This declaration was made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Prof Solomon Omonigho, Onobun scored 17,611 votes to defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent, Patrick Idiake, who managed to grab 16,509 votes the second position.
According to the INEC returning officer, Omonigho who revealed that there were 221,888 registered voters in the constituency, and having 46,849 voters being accredited.
