Ahead of the Gubernatorial election coming up on 11th March, the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON has assured total overhaul of Delta state economy with the restoration of the Delta Steel Company (DSC) into production as soon as he takes over from Ifeanyi Okowa.
He made this declaration on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 during his visit to the Delta Catholic secretariat at Agbarho.
The secretariat which comprises of Warri Diocese, Bomadi diocese and Issele Uku diocese.
Gbagi also went further to air his pains concerning the various companies especially the Delta Steel Company (DSC) which was left in the hands of Indians to diplate and have thrown staffs which are Deltans on the street for over 30 years, rendering the company development redundant.
In his statement he assures the catholic church speedy restoration and recovery of the economy of Delta state if voted in as Governor, come 11th March, 2023.
He reaffirms, “I will restore Delta Steel Company (DSC) into its full production within six months of my administration. What we need is men of honesty and character.
“I will change Asaba airport to six lane airport. Osubi airport will be changed to four lane. I will not travel from Nigeria without using Asaba or Osubi airport. We will change them to international airports.”
He revealed that 633.4million dollars have been designed for a bridge to run from Warri to Burutu area of Delta south. He added that he knew he would be governor, hence he has made plans for the construction of the bridge that will run through the stretch of water from Warri to Burutu.
“Many firms have left Delta state because of the failure of government. Shell was in Delta but it has left the state for Lagos.
“I will re-enact Asaba textile mill. We will produce jeans material at the mill. We will export them to America. We can produce rice which we can sell to ourselves, to Nigeria market and export.
At the end, Gbagi concluded with an assurance that, a vote for him as an SDP flag bearer will uninterruptedly enhance the development in Delta state no matter the set backs and debt on ground as he is the only candidate among all that has the discipline, character and to move state forward, no doubt.
He beckon on the entire catholic church in Detate and Deltans to stepout of the dungeon of the present administration and do it right on 11th March for Delta state to become more liveable than the present administration kept it.
