Following the today old N200 note remaining legal tender for 60 days decision of President Buhari.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, has taken a bold step to meet with the operators of commercial banks, ordering the immediate implementation of the presidential instructions with effect from today, Thursday.
Emefiele, who was at the presidential villa on Thursday afternoon for a meeting with Buhari and some other stakeholders, including an ad-hoc House of Representatives ad-hoc Committee on Naira re-design/Cashless policy and currency swap, said he already met with 15 bank executives on how to ease the cash crisis and assured the avalibility of the old N200 note with immediate effect.
He also urge Nigerians to allow the policy to work, saying it will go a long way to help in reviving the economy of the country.
Emefiele assures his commitment to continue to ease the suffering of the people from the cash crunch.
