The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu, HRH Mohammed Sanusi, Emir of Dutse in reception of the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) candidate on 22nd January, 2022 made some remarks on the personality of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu during their campaign visit to his palace in Jigawa state.
The late monarch praised the presidential candidate, saying they had some things in common.
In his statement he said, “I am a keen follower of you and your political activities. You are one person I believe have the capacity and competence to rule the country. Nigeria had been polarised before. You were able to bring the North and South together under this administration.
“I attended your inauguration as the Jagaban of Borgu by the late Emir of Borgu. He was my friend. He was constantly talking about you and your good deeds.
“You also went to America to study just like me. And like you, I also did several menial jobs to survive.
“I’m also an Accountant like you. I have also read some of your books particularly like the one titled ‘Financialism’. The only thing I lack, unlike you, is the will to play politics.”
Although the Emir normally receives visitors in his palace rather than his residence, he decided to do so in deference to the state governor, Badaru Abubakar, and as a mark of respect to Tinubu.
The Emir also beckon on the APC candidate to ensure end water crisis in Jigawa water, among other things, if he finally emerge as president as it is the most crucial problem facing the region.
Tinubu who was accompanied to the palace of the first-class monarch by his campaign train, of least six APC governors, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila responsed to the remarks of the Emir and promise to improve on the request while revealing his aim of the courtsey visit.
In his statement, he said, “as a leader and father” I have come to seek your support for the forthcoming presidency race, assuring traditional ruler and others present that he would work hard to solve the nation’s pressing problems.
“He will not sell or share the nation’s patrimony like a piece of cake. He has come to serve and he will serve the country.”
