Today Wednesday 4th January, 2023 s a very remarkable one as the incoming Governor of Delta state, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON graced the 2023 Anglican Diocese of Ughelli Prayer convocation and Silver jubilee themed: “You Are My Battle Axe”, drawn from Jeremiah 51:20 in grand style while receiving annoiting from Bishop Odutemu as the only governorship candidate acceptable to the church.
An African proverb has said that, to whom much is given, much is expected. It is easy and common for men to make promises of mere words but very unique and special to see men keep promises fulfilled and the case of the industralist is always unique and commendable as he delivers all his promises.
The Delta state Governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr Kenneth .O. Gbagi FNIM OON in the company of his wife, Mrs. Sybil Gbagi JCA, Deputy Governor, Mrs. Rosemary Isioma Oshilim, the Vice Chairman Central of Social Democratic Party SDP, Elder Owotorofa, SDP candidates of both House of Representatives, House of Assembly, Gbagi’s Campaign Councils and others storms the event in style.
Following his antecedents which speaks loud, Gbagi who has been known for his distinguished qualities of philanthropism and uniqueness in keeping promises even the ones failed by others has taking the event to a different level by delivering his usual character of giving which made him to be recognised as the man wey sabi, the talk-na-do of Delta state as when other candidates or those in power promises with mere words, Gbagi keep delivering fulfiled promises everywhere he goes.
It may interest you to note that, the Anglican Diocese of Ughelli 2023 Convocation and Silver witnessed another delivery angle of the industralist who in his magnomity displayed his giving talent of N10 million in supporting the work of God coupled with his capacity and willingness to ensure every good work in Delta state progresses for God and the good of Deltans in particular.
Gbagi also told the gathering that, unless Deltans liberate themselves, the state would be in anarchy.
In his statement, he expressed, “Ladies and gentlemen, I am uncomfortable. I will liberate Delta State for the good of all of you. I will set up individual local governments such that local government will be sustainable and pay their bills.
‘I will issue a free education to all Deltan children. I will pay every Delta unemployed youths N30, 000 from the day of my swearing in until I give them jobs to do.
“I believe that with you, people of God. That is why I have come to you. Choose the best material who can represent and serve Delta State in a greater growth for Delta to know what we are.
“Delta State is the richest State in Nigeria. Delta State is richer than 42 countries in the world but you people must start getting the benefits with me as your governor from this year.
“Don’t be deceived. Please, check well and vote. It is with this party, SDP, Olorogun Felix Ibru, won election in Delta State and that government was not corrupt.
“Our logo is the horse, please remember us in your prayers and let us together liberate Delta State”.
That huge donation provoked heavenly prayers of total support and blessings of the entire congregation led by the Archbishop of Bendel Province and Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Cyril Odiboghene Odutemu while receiving the liberation message from His Excellency, Olorogun Barr Kenneth Gbagi OON to over 50,000 congregation in which he assures them that Gbagi, would deliberately fulfill his electioneering promises to Deltans, no doubt.
In his statement he said, “Gbagi promised and he has fulfilled his promise, that means, he will do what he says.
“Anybody who can deceive the church, will never fulfill any promise to the state.
“I will not hide anything from you, we said that we will announce to the people, that the Holy Spirit must guide you to vote rightly. We will not mislead you, God will guide your hearts so that you will you put your votes, where you will not regret it”.
Bishop Odutemu, who doubles as the Chairman, Delta State Pilgrim Welfare Board, also prayed, “Lord Jesus, there will be a vacancy at the government house on the 29th of May that somebody must occupy and Deltans will decide that in March.
“Father, your son has told us his programmes, we pray for him. God grant him success and let your will be done in him. Jehovah, your will and let the Devil be put to shame.
“The congregation are the battle axe for Jesus and that they must vote for a God-fearing candidate.
“With them, we will remove every corruption and Satanic agenda from the country. With their PVC, they will axe every enemy of progress, they will determine the election and may God grant you success”.
At the end, Bishop Odutemu went further to annoint Gbagi, confirming him as the only acceptable candidate by the church he said, “Anybody who can deceive the church, will never fulfill any promise to the state”.
And the event was pronounced as the best of the best ever witnessed by the Anglican Diocese congregation with unimaginable joy and colour display so ever.
