Delta 2023: Sapele Embraces Gbagi’s SDP Entrepreneurship Blueprint, Declares Strong Support
…says will only vote for candidate that recognises church
Ahead of 2023 gubernatorial race, the Delta state Governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON in the company of his amiable wife, Mrs. Sybil Gbagi JCA, Deputy Governor, SDP members and campaign council led by Prof. Jiff Mokobia has taking another strategic step to deliver the Social Democratic Party SDP entrepreneurship blueprint which includes; (proper health care service, quality education, massive job creation and employment, revival of moribund companies and creation of more industries) to the entire people of Sapele through the Sapele Diocese of the Anglican Communion.
This visit took place at the Sapele Diocese of the Anglican Communion on Wednesday 28th December, 2022.
Gbagi who is recognised and commended for his numerous investments in the state which has provided employments to a large chunk of youths both in the state and nation wide.
Unlike some other party (PDP, APC) candidates who has been in government without any visible investment designated to the state.
The leader of the Sapele Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Bishop, Most Rev. Blessing Erifeta in recognition of the capacity and discipline of the industralist, Gbagi received the blueprint in good faith as its coming from a man whose words can be trusted.
He went further in support of Gbagi to make his remark on behalf of the church that, their interest in voting any candidate depends on the candidate that recognises and carries the church along in their political endeavours.
In his word he said, “We are not partial to any political party because our members have different political preferences.
“We have a culture of praying for anyone who comes to us for prayers.
“Whoever has the quality to become leader, is who we will vote for this time”.
He insisted that ignoring the church is akin to ignoring the voice of God, in this election process.
He cited the issues that could convince the Church to vote for any candidate.
“If you want our support, we must be convinced that you have the security of the people as a very important part of your message.
“Education must also be at the forefront of your plans because after marriage. Some parents sell off their properties in order to see their children through school, but strike and high cost of living makes it difficult for the child to even finish school in the first place, and then when they come out there is no job”.
“Our health centers are in shambles, medical facilities are not working.
“The government of the day does not give priority to the health sector,
“We pray that nothing like COVID-19 comes up again, because all our good doctors have left the country to seek better opportunities abroad.
“We need a government that is conscious of the health institution”.
“We will vote for the candidate who has the quality to carry the church along”.
In response, Gbagi appreciated the church and encourage them not to continue to be back benchers but step up their faith and participation in politics as that is the only way Delta state can progress.
He expressed, “they have said they will do more, Do more of what?
“You must ask them, is it more debts, more poverty, more kidnapping!
“The church suffers more in a bad government and this is because the majority of the people in Delta state are christians and when they don’t have enough to eat they can’t even give good offerings”
“No Muslim or idol worshiper has ruled Delta before, only church people like us, so why are we where we are today!
“The church should ask any of these candidate to identify themselves, family background, their tax records and their contrubutions to state building and empowerment of youths since in government.
At the end, Gbagi encouraged the entire Sapele people to open their inner mind and conscience to decide the way forward for all Deltans by embracing his enterprenueral blueprint which is part of his liberation package to progress every region, LGA of Delta state to better the lives of Deltans in general.
