Spanish giant Real Madrid Wednesday night beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 to win their fifth UEFA Super Cup title.
In the match played at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland, David Alaba opened scoring for the Spanish giants in the 37th minute.
The first half ended with the lone goal lead.
At the restart, French striker Karim Benzema doubled Madrid’s lead in the second half courtesy of an assist from Vinicius Junior.
With the goal, Benzema became the second highest goalscorer in Madrid with 324 goals, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted 450 goals for the Spanish side.
Speaking after the game, Manager Carlos Ancelotti said “It’s a pleasure leading this team.
“There’s a healthy atmosphere, a great chemistry. It’s clear that good matches and victories help to keep a healthy dressing room.”
