The Lagos State Government has restated its commitment to boost food production through the provision of quality farm implements for farmers in the state.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, disclosed this, according to a statement on Sunday, during a quarterly sensitisation programme organised for farmers in Alausa, Ikeja.

Olusanya, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs Olatokunbo Emopkai, noted that the Lagos State Agricultural Inputs Supply Authority has established eight farm centres across the state to assist farmers.

She said, “Over the years, the LASIA has been at the forefront of supplying farmers in the state with high-quality farm implements, agrochemicals and seedlings at affordable prices.

“The government, through LAISA, has established eight farm service centres in different divisions of the state to give farmers easy access to quality agricultural inputs and ensure that the agency remains a one-stop centre for agricultural inputs supply to farmers.”

The Assistant General Manager, Market Research and Development, Mr Olatoyinbo Ojuri, appreciated the Ministry of Agriculture for being consistent in supporting LAISA to provide qualitative service to farmers and also commended the farmers for their commitment to provide food in the state.
