
An early morning fire on Sunday destroyed parts of a popular market, Atakunmosa Ereja square in Ilesha, Osun State, leaving traders bemoaning their losses.
The Nation gathered that the fire started around 1:50am with some residents quickly alerting the fire service.

A trader Deborah told our correspondent that the fire started from a shop and later spread to 12 others before the fire service men put it under control.
When contacted, the spokesperson, Osun Fire Service, Adekunle Ibrahim confirmed the incident, noting no life was lost in the incident.
He explained: “A roll of shops comprises of 12 units on Fire, severely damaged by fire. Our men have put it under control.”
The Zonal Commandant for, Federal Fire Service, Zone L (Osun, Ekiti &Ondo), Mr Clement Daramola confirmed the incident.
