President Muhammadu Buhari has returned from Ethiopia where he had attended the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads and Government of African Union.
The Nigerian leader, notorious for frivolous trips overseas amidst the rising internal insecurity and violence, was received at the Addis Ababa International Airport on Friday by the Ethiopian Minister of Education, Prof. Berhanu Nega, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama and Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq.
Others at the airport included the Nigerian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Victor Adeleke, Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire as well as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Muhammed Abubakar.
However, before leaving Ethiopia, the President received the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, on the side-lines of the AU Summit.
The President also received the Assistant Secretary-General and Assistant Administrator, Director, United Nations Development Programmes Regional Bureau for Africa, Ahunna Eziakonwa.
President had on Sunday met with Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guinea-Bissau, Suzi Barbosa, who gave graphic presentation of the attempt to overthrow the constitutional order in her country.
